December 6, 2009 - Gridiron Elite Championship

The season is winding down, and as we say goodbye to 2009 we set it off to the record books in the same style we brought it in with. In true Gridiron Elite style, the Gridiron Elite opened the 2009 season with an epic Spring Classic and now they are ending the year with the crowning of the Winter Classic Championship game.

The site will again be Gridiron Elite Stadium, and for the third straight tournament championship we will see the Empire State Demon Knights. Will this be the Demon Knights time to be crowned Champions? They have been playing good football all year as they finish up their 3rd season of 2009. The spring campaign ended with a disappointing 32-25 los to the New York Spartans, and a successful RAFL campaign was cut off prematurely by a first round playoff loss. This Demon Knight team is resiliant as they enter the championship game after beating the Long Island Panthers, their long time island rival. The Connecticut Gamblers on the other hand find themselves in the big game with very little buzz. The Gamblers took care of business in the preliminary rounds, trudging through mud to beat the Panthers, Westchester Steelers and then advanced into the championship game to face the Demon Knights. Sorry about the lack of updates everyone. I've been pretty busy as of late, and haven't had a lot of time to update the site. I wish the Gamblers the best of luck in the championship and I wish I could be there with all of you when you bring the title to CT and the NEFL!

The Connecticut Gamblers are dedicating this season to ALL soldiers from CT, past and present, who have defended our freedom and continue to do so, making our way of life possible. Thank You.

At every home game this season we will be collecting items to send over to our troops in Iraq. The best items to bring are Visa/Mastercard Giftcards and Phone Cards. The soldiers use these to get intouch with their families while they are overseas defending our freedom.
