Week 7 (Technically 8) - vs. Whaling City Clippers

Once again, I apologize for the lack of updates. I'll get better at updating the site eventually, just hard to find the time to sit down for a few minutes sometimes. Other times its lack of ambition, what can I say. Well once again we played a hell of a game against one of the better teams in this league. We lost to the Clippers, 14-6, because of some mental errors. Thats all I really have to say about the game. Hell of a job by everyone. Everything's a learning experience, and we are growing as a team without a doubt.

Just some quick updates, besides what was already said. Last weeks game against the CT Bearcats was post-poned due to the Tropical Storm/Huricane/whatever it was and will be made up October 4 (I Believe). This weeks game against Woonsocket has been moved to this coming Sunday at 1:00. And lastly I will be posting some new pictures taken by Phil Larrow. Until I post them go check out his website he has some pretty killer shots. You can view the Gamblers photos on there as well. His website is www.victoryphotos.printroom.com You can order prints as well if you'd like.

Week 6 - vs. South Shore Outlaws

First and foremost, sorry about the lack or updates last week, it was a very busy week for me. Everything has been updated including the roster and the schedule with the proper final scores and whatnot. Well we pulled off another win against the South Shore Outlaws. We drove down the field the first series of the game to score a touchdown. That one drive basically dominated the 1st quarter. So we went up 7-0. Later on in the second quarter the Outlaws answered with a TD pass of their own, they also kicked the extra point making the score 7-7. This brought us into half time. On the opening kick off of the second half, the Outlaws ran back a TD but missed the extra point making the score 13-7. The Gamblers Matt Morin ran back a blocked field goal attempt for a TD making the score 14-13. The Outlaws answered back with another TD but missed the two-point conversion. Making the score 19-14. Then honestly this is where my mind is a little blank. I know our offense drove down and scored another two TDs. I believe it was Terril who had a nice diving catch in the end-zone towards the end. Overall the O-Line had a hell of a day. Obviously I forgot some things, fill in the blanks in the forums. - Brian #77

Week 4 - vs. Weymouth

The Gamblers have won their first game of the season by defeating the Weymouth Sharks 20-10. Once again the defense stepped it up scoring 12 points by returning interceptions for touchdowns. I don't really remember who did what, all I remember is that we won, and it felt good. If anyone has any details or a breakdown of the game, post them up in the forums!

Also be sure to check out the newest additions to the site: The Field section and the Sponsors section are now live. If anyone can help fill in the blanks on some of the sponsors just post the info in the forums. Also you can check out some pics from some of the games by going to http://pics.ctgamblers.com. If anyone has any pics from any of the other games and can get them to me some how that would be great - Brian #77

Week 3 - vs. Mill City

Week 3 had its ups and its downs for the Gamblers. The 1st half we owned. The Maulers drove their first drive down to the red zone, but our defense held them to a field goal. Our offense got its first score of the year with a long pass from QB Matt Martin to WR Terrill Ficher. It was a good feeling. The Gamblers were up 6-3 for the mojority of the game. With 5 minutes or so left in the game the Maulers fumbled and the Gamblers recovered, but the wonderful officiating crew said the Mauler's player was clearly down. The Maulers then drove in a touchdown a few plays later. The Maulers would then score again sealing up the game after an interception. A very frustrating game to say the least. - Brian #77

Week 2 - The Rivalry Begins

The rivalry has begun, as the Gamblers took on the Thunder this past Saturday. It was a hard hitting, trash talking game. The Thunder won the opening coin toss and defered to the second half. The Gamblers and the Thunder both were forced to punt on their first series. The Thunder then drove down the field for a touchdown on their next possesion. The Thunder then scored a field goal right before the half. The Gamblers owned the third quarter. The defense was unstoppable but the offense couldn't get the ball in the endzone. Some will say bad officiating, but I don't want to point fingers at anybody, we just didn't get it in. Right after that drive ended the Gamblers defense got a safety as they swarmed the Thunder's quarterback in their own endzone. In the fourth quarter the only points for the Thunder came off of an interception taken back for a touchdown. The final score was 18-2 in favor of the Thunder. The Gamblers will be playing the Thunder again in the final week of the season, and we are looking forward to it. - Brian #77

Week 1 & Website News

The Gamblers played the first game of the season yesterday, and in a hard fought battle against the Leominster Razorbacks (Last years single A Champs) they came up short 3-0. It was a defensive battle from the get-go, and the game remained scoreless until early in the fourth quarter when the Razorbacks kicked a game winning field goal.

We have the forums up and running so click here to go and sign up and talk everything Gamblers related. I'm still working on getting the site up and running, so some links may not work right. Just be patient I should have the site fully operational in a few weeks. Until then I will be consistently updating this section with the latest news and updates from the Gamblers camp. Until next time.....Brian #77
